Research Assistant (Bilingual: English/Spanish) (R&D)
The California Emerging Infections Program (CEIP) is a program administered by Heluna Health. It is one of ten EIP sites nationwide, which serve as a national resource for surveillance, prevention, and control of emerging infectious diseases. CEIP functions under a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and is a collaborative effort involving the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), the University of California, Berkeley, School of Public Health, and several local health departments.
The successful candidate will likely be assigned specific project(s) on which they will focus. The candidate will also contribute to a variety of research activities including assisting project coordinator(s) or surveillance officers in data collection and data entry, contacting hospitals and laboratories for information regarding case-patients, interacting with hospital medical records departments and physicians' offices to obtain case information, general organizational office tasks, and conducting standardized telephone interviews of case-patients or controls using standardized forms. Study protocols may require interviews to be conducted in the evenings or on the weekend. These may be conducted from home using a program-provided cell phone.
