The University of Oklahoma is seeking a dedicated Senior HR Business Partner to support our USPS Training Center. In this role, you will balance daily HR transactional activities with providing strategic coaching and guidance to faculty and staff. Typical Functions May Include:

  • Serves as a trusted advisor, strategic partner, and subject matter expert at the University in the areas of employee relations, performance management, positive discipline issues, and workplace disputes.
  • Manages job listings and candidate referrals for OU/USPS Contract staff positions.  Communicates with hiring managers, applicants, and completes hires.
  • Actively sources and identifies potential candidates using various recruitment strategies and platforms for vacant OU/USPS Contract positions.
  • Provides confidential support to management and staff, working closely with Legal Counsel and key stakeholders in guiding appropriate courses of action and identifying and mitigating potential risk.
  • Performs HR outreach visits to departments for on-site problem-solving.  Provides internal customer service to HR staff for policy guidance and overlapping situations.

Required Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree, AND: 

  • 36 months of professional HR experience in Employee Relations or a related field.

Certifications:

  • Must already have, or be able to obtain, an active USPS Security Clearance within 90 days of being hired. 

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to engage in repetitive motions and communicate effectively
  • Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods
  • Ability to communicate, including expressing oneself or exchanging information with others
  • Ability to use computer daily.
  • Sit for prolonged periods. 

Department Preferences:

  • 60+ months of progressive HR work experience
  • Previous OU experience, particularly in Human Resources
  • Previous experience directly related to positive discipline (i.e. performance management), coaching, and mentoring
  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft and/or Cornerstone
  • Previous experience working with Talent Recruiting Vendors / Staffing Agencies
