Network Communication Analyst II (Information Technology)

In this role you will design, optimize, and support enterprise route, switch, firewall, wireless, VoIP, and other network technologies.

What you need to know:
Work Environment – Corporate Office, data centers, and on site in our freight operations.
Work Schedule – This is a hybrid (in office and remote) position with flexibility on work schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Network Analyst works with IT teams, freight operations, management, and vendors to understand business requirements and develop our global network strategy and technology roadmap. They share responsibility for network design, installation, performance, reliability, and disaster recovery. This position requires broad knowledge across network, cloud, wireless, unified communications, and security disciplines.
Provides deep subject matter expertise and technical leadership in core areas of responsibility. Develops and implements standards and practices. Evaluates emerging technologies and make recommendations for adoption as appropriate. Recommends product, process, and system improvements.
Leads large projects which often take 2 to 6 months to complete. Defines requirements, develops implementation plans, project schedules, and cost estimates. Responsible for facilitating effective communication and coordination within the project team and with stakeholders.
Provides network and voice infrastructure support for new offices, relocations, and closures. Coordinates MPLS, internet, and voice service installations, upgrades, and disconnects. Manages project communication and coordination between stakeholders, service providers, and contractors.
Designs, installs, optimizes, and troubleshoots complex 802.11 wireless networks in large scale corporate, warehouse, and shipping terminal environments.
Identifies opportunities to streamline network management using automation. Leverages automation tools and solutions to ensure consistent processes and repetitive tasks are performed with accuracy and efficiency.
Provides escalation support for unique and complex networking problems that may span multiple systems, teams, or vendor systems. Analyzes root cause of failures and recommend corrective actions. Trains the team and IT staff in areas of expertise. Participates in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation, after-hours projects and maintenance activities.
Participates in disaster recovery planning. Tests, optimizes, and updates processes and documentation. Leads recovery efforts for the systems they are responsible for.
Stays abreast of cybersecurity vulnerabilities, trends, and best practices. Supports the selection, configuration, optimization, and utilization of network security tools and technologies. Assists with identifying and responding to security incidents and breaches.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree in networking or computer science and 3 or more years' experience in enterprise networking roles with increasing responsibilities, or equivalent education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Strong interpersonal and communications skills to facilitate work with technical personnel, customers, vendors and business managers/administrators. Required skills include the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents and contractual agreements; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; and effectively present information to management, customers, and the general public.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to enter information and instructions into a computer keyboard. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear. The employee must be able to read information displayed on a computer monitor. Occasional travel may be required based on project needs. The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet (office) to moderately loud (data center or terminal/warehouse).
