Studio Producer, Scripps Sports (Temporary) (Creative Design)



Are you passionate about creating captivating live sports programming that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats? Scripps Sports is seeking a talented Studio Producer who will produce live sports programming in studio and work with our production team to deliver high-quality, engaging broadcasts. You'll be at the heart of our studio operations, coordinating teams and making real-time decisions that bring sports stories to life. This remote position offers the opportunity to shape compelling live programming while working with cutting-edge technology and passionate sports professionals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Support live production of studio shows, pre-game/post-game coverage, and other live in-studio programming

  • Coordinate a team of production staff including directors, camera operators, graphics operators, and production assistants

  • Collaborate closely with on-air talent, production managers, and other department leads to develop rundowns, timing, and content for live shows

  • Make real-time decisions and edits during live broadcasts to maintain a seamless, engaging on-air presentation

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with the control room, engineering, and other production teams to coordinate a cohesive live broadcast

  • Identify and troubleshoot any issues or technical difficulties that arise during live productions, implementing solutions quickly

  • Provide creative input and oversight on the look, feel, and presentation of live studio programming

  • Ensure all live productions adhere to network standards, brand guidelines, and FCC regulations

  • Maintain awareness of sports news, events, and trends to suggest relevant and timely live programming ideas

  • Work closely with production managers to coordinate studio schedules, equipment needs, and other logistical elements

  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred

  • Generally, 3+ years of experience in related field preferred

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Exceptional leadership, multitasking, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced live environment

  • Thorough understanding of live studio production workflows, equipment, and technology

  • Strong news judgment and ability to quickly identify and capitalize on timely programming opportunities

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to provide clear direction to production teams

  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to thrive under pressure and tight deadline.

  • Passion for sports and demonstrated ability to create engaging, informative live programming

  • Willingness to work long, irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
