Executive Director- External Relations & Tech Transfers (Finance)

Description:

Responsible for the development and coordination of external relations and technology transfer with the energy industry for UH Energy. Implements strategic planning and facilitates the establishment of continuing and professional energy-related information programs in accordance with unit objectives. Identifies needs in the energy and chemicals industries and identifies matching technology breakthroughs in the university.

1. Establishes and maintains strong partnerships with academic departments and energy industry contacts to create, coordinate and implement energy-related continuing and professional education programs, workshops and short courses.
2. Responsible for innovative marketing and communication strategies for education programs.
3. Identifies technology breakthroughs in the university beneficial to the energy and chemicals industries.
4. Advises Principal Investigators in the university on the design and operation of technology demonstrations for decision makers in the energy and chemicals industries.
5. Cultivates, solicits and engages key external stakeholders to advance the unit's strategic priorities, including identifying stakeholders to serve on key task forces.
6. Fosters and enhances relationships with internal and external stakeholders to increase awareness of the unit's vision, mission, goals and the university's drive to be a leader in energy.
7. Identifies and engages key external stakeholders and serves on the on the development team to advance the university's strategic priorities in research and education.
8. Administers special events, marketing and media relations for the strategic priorities, and participates in other unit advancement activities as needed.
9. Performs other job-related duties as required.

MQ:
Requires application of advanced principles, techniques and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general business management knowledge. Knowledge of this level is typically obtained through a directly job-related Master's degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience. Preferred: Twenty (20) years of directly job-related experience. Licensed Professional Engineer.
