Your Impact

The Account Manager works across the Advertising organization to shepherd campaigns through pre-sale planning/ideation to post-sale execution. The Account Manager will be a category and product expert for their assigned accounts, understanding how their clients buy our media and which products perform best for their objectives. They will have a deep understanding of our portfolio of brands, ad products, packages, and business rules, while making sure our full-lifecycle solutions meet our client expectations.

At Hearst Magazines, Account Managers play a critical role in driving client success and revenue growth. You'll be the go-to partner for clients and internal teams, shaping strategies that deliver results across our powerful portfolio of media platforms. This person will use their excellent communication skills to build strong relationships internally and externally and be a main point of contact for the accounts they work on. Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
  • Partner with clients and internal teams to assess goals and develop strategies using the full portfolio of ad products.
  • Collaborate on RFP strategy and response; support Sales, Marketing, and Research teams with pre-sale research and pitches.
  • Communicate directly with agencies, clients, vendors, and internal teams to implement custom programs.
  • Build compelling media plans that drive revenue, achieve KPIs, maintain margins, and align with business rules.
  • Ensure campaign details align across media plans, agency IOs, and orders throughout the campaign lifecycle; manage booking in the Order Management System.
  • Understand billing models, client terms, and compliance requirements in partnership with contracts teams.
  • Lead campaign kickoffs, manage timelines and assets, and oversee optimization opportunities.
  • Monitor campaign performance, oversee revisions or optimizations, and contribute to wrap reports to identify upsell and renewal opportunities.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of ad products and processes, making proactive recommendations for improvements.
  • In-office requirement: This role is based in New York City and follows a hybrid schedule of three days per week in the office.
Qualifications (What We're Looking For)
  • 3–5 years of experience in media, sales planning, or strategy.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey needs and expectations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships, fostering trust and loyalty.
  • Collaborative, flexible, and personable, with the ability to work across teams and levels.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Google Analytics, Google Ad Manager, and Salesforce.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

The base salary for this role is between $74,000 - $93,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

In-office requirement: This role is based in New York City and follows a hybrid schedule of three days per week in the office.
