Senior Electrical Engineer (Engineering)

Situated in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota, our Rapid City office is the home of our relays design team. This group focuses on products for circuit protection and safety such as Ground Fault Relays and Neutral Ground Resistor monitors. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you as Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for developing a new solid state industrial control platform for the Industrial Business Unit.
Roles and Responsibilities
Design and build prototypes and production electronic systems, including circuit design, PCB layout, and design validation.
Apply a scientific approach to engineering design problems by creating experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and making informed decisions.
Design clean sheet, new to market, solid state industrial control platform.
Apply innovative design techniques to a solve a variety of engineering challenges.
Debug hardware in laboratory environment with common lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters.
Collaborate with Manufacturing and other teams as needed to develop high quality, reliable hardware for our customers.
Required Qualifications
BS Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in electronics design role.
Strong ability to communicate with other engineers, management, and external customers over both written and verbal communication.
Excellent analytical skills and demonstrable knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals.
Proficient in a schematic capture and PCB layout tool (preference to Altium).
Experience with mixed signal design a must.
Bonus Skills
Experience with embedded design.
Experience with line-voltage or high-power electronics.
Experience using Python or other scripting language.
Knowledge of UL Standards / Certification.
