General Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for Raw, WIP, finished goods inventory accuracy and storage that requires coordination with various functions such as purchasing, warehousing, manufacturing and outsourcing. The Warehouse Supervisor will accomplish this by consistent application of company Policies, Procedures, & Guidelines, establishing and communicating related goals / objectives, establishing expense controls (checkbook), selection of key personnel, and assist in the development of manufacturing systems to support the entire value stream. The Warehouse Supervisor coordinates a cross-functional effort to meet customer delivery expectations by utilizing various systems to control product from receiving thru shipping. This role requires experience with DC type operations and implementing efficiencies in all systems. Must have the ability to create an environment that is safety oriented and teamwork driven to ensure a stable work force.
Responsibilities:
Supervise receiving, warehousing and shipping personnel. Supervise and maintain overall housekeeping of the warehouse(s), shipping and receiving areas. Coordinate with production/customer service/outsourcing team to support customer shipments. Communicate with Customer Service Team & Materials Manager to meet and exceed customers expectations for on time deliver. Warehouse optimization and Inventory Analysis Maintain open communications and relationships with outside warehousing facilities for product storage and coordination of delivery to meet production or shipment demands. Manage the entire traffic function, including: receiving, shipping, ASNs, labeling, customer shipping specifications, bills of lading, routing, freight rates, bar coding, stock locator system, exporting and I.S.O. / TS-16949 requirements. Manage and control inventory entering and leaving building for accuracy. All other duties assigned by Distribution Center Manager.
Education and Skill Requirements:
S in Business, Materials Management or similar desired. APICS certification desired 2+ years management experience in shipping, receiving, and/or warehousing/distribution functions desired. Safety focused - OSHA 10 or 30 training desired Experience working with container scheduling / processing to minimize demerge charges. Good oral and written communications skills, self-motivated, and willingness to be a team player. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Experience utilizing ERP, MRP, Barcoding and related systems. Knowledge using Microsoft Excel , Word, and PowerPoint Background in ISO-14001, ISO-9000 & TS16949 desired Job function will involve working in a manufacturing type setting that will involve walking, bending, standing and squatting for long periods of time. The willingness to work extended, off shift, and flexible hours based on production demands. Experience with lean systems such as Kaizen, KPIs and 5S desired Bilingual is a plus
