Overview

The Interim Controller will manage our core financial reporting & accounting operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the general accounting, financial systems, and treasury functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all financial processes.  They will maintain strong internal controls and support strategic financial initiatives & decision-making.

 

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance or related field or equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities is required.
  • Master's degree in Business, Accounting and/or Finance preferred 
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5 years in a leadership role.

 

Job Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Coordinate annual audits and manage relationships with external auditors.
  • Lead day-to-day accounting functions including the following:

 

Accounting Operations

  • Lead day-to-day accounting functions including the following:
  • General Accounting
  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Manage the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Lead internal and external audit processes.
  • Maintain internal controls and accounting policies.

 

Financial Systems

  • Oversee maintenance of financial systems and ERP platforms.
  • Support implementation of system upgrades and integrations.
  • Ensure data integrity and streamline reporting capabilities.

 

Treasury

  • Oversee management of cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning.
  • Maintain banking relationships and optimize cash management strategies.
  • Monitor debt compliance and support financing activities.

 

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise and mentor various functions, (general accounting, financial systems and treasury), fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Support staff development through coaching, training, and performance management.

 

Strategic Support

  • Collaborate with all leaders of Accounting & Finance as well as other departments to support financial reporting and analysis.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

  • Ability to professionally present recommendations to various groups in the organization.
  • Solid business acumen with intellectual curiosity to learn and help drive change in key areas of need in the business.

 

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Fast-paced office environment. 
  • Travel between facilities required.
  • Typical work hours consist of 45+ hours per week.
  • Sitting and working at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Visual acuity.
