Job Summary:

The Lead Truck Yard Driver will be responsible for moving trailers from the truck yard to the distribution centers for loading or unloading in addition to training and mentoring.

 

Essential Position Functions:

· General oversight of yard movement support teams for campus transportation model.

· Maintain log of activities and report to operations supervisor daily.

· Assist operations supervisor with delegation of regional logistics needs.

· Follow, monitor, and train all company SOPs and FMCSA safety guidelines to support campus transportation model.

· Oversee yard movement support teams to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

· Report attendance, work schedule, and punctuality issues of yard movement support teams.

· Oversee and report on yard movement support teams on equipment integrity, cleanliness, and daily inspections.

· Oversight and report on yard movement support teams' software usage for accuracy and report integrity.

· Record trailer movement and complete yard reports.

· Perform special projects and other related duties, as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and 2-3 years of driving experience is required. A minimum of 2 years of verified OTR experience is also required. Forklift or pallet jack experience is preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Must have a Class A CDL and maintain a clean MVR.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

· Be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs at a time.

· Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for long periods of time.

· Outside element all weather conditions.
