Quality Engineer (Engineering)



Plastipak Quality Engineers direct and coordinate activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and product.

You Will

  • Collaborate with Injection Molding, PET Blow Molding, and HDPE Extrusion teams on continuous improvement projects to improve finished good product performance.
  • Develop and implement smart manufacturing solutions, audit programs, corrective and preventive actions, and Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) solutions.
  • Lead the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure its effectiveness with the authority to initiate actions.
  • Implement training programs for associates on Food Safety and Quality standards (ISO 9001:2015, FSSC 22000, and AIB International).
  • Analyze data to identify statistical trends to improve machine and product performance, including, Cloud-based digital solutions (Smartsheet), and Statistical Process Control SPC.
  • Establish, and maintain calibration programs to evaluate the precision and accuracy of production and testing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot product defects by applying principles of material behavior, processing techniques, and simulating failure prediction.

You Have

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
  • Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) principles and practices.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, and AIB International standards (a plus).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • CAD/CAM software, and 3D printing experience (a plus)
