The Senior EHS Specialist provides guidance and expertise in areas of environmental, health, and safety for the functional groups at the Medtronic Irvine facilities. The incumbent ensures compliance with all applicable EHS regulations to include corporate policies and programs, and federal, state and local regulations. The incumbent is expected to exercise considerable latitude and independence in determining deliverables based upon the long-term strategies of the business. The incumbent will support EHS management in interfacing with external agencies and corporate representatives regarding EHS activities for the site.
The Senior EHS Specialist will act as a business partner to a variety of manufacturing, new product development, and R&D groups. The Senior EHS Specialist will have ownership over a defined number of EHS programs that are part of a comprehensive EHS Management system. Major programs of emphasis include Hazard Communication, Hazardous Material Handling, Regulated Waste Management, Ergonomics, Electrical Safety, Lockout/Tagout, Contractor Safety, and Hearing Conservation programs.
