Lead CT Technologist (Saturday and Sunday - 16 hour shifts) (Finance)



Nemours is seeking a Lead CT Technologist (Full-Time), to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Orlando, Florida.

NCH Orlando is looking for a skilled X-Ray and CT Technologist to perform mobile X-rays, fluoroscopic procedures, and operate C-Arm, and CT equipment. This role includes providing imaging services to emergency patients, inpatients, and outpatients. Responsibilities involve ensuring patient comfort and safety, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and maintaining imaging equipment. Candidates should be certified Radiologic Technologists with experience in the mentioned procedures, strong communication skills, and a commitment to patient care.

This position is for two 16-hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday, with the option of picking up additional hours during the week as needed. The Lead CT Technologist will perform CT procedures under the direction of a physician with established methods and procedures and is responsible for patient care, quality control and improvement activities, proper operation of all CT equipment including post processing and direct supervision and training of CT technologists.

  • Participates in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and Improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of the Nemours Foundation.
  • Work with radiologist to develop and optimize CT scanner protocols. Responsible for maintaining and updating protocols at the scanner and passing this information on to the technologists.
  • Oversees the performance of the CT technologists assigned by evaluating technologists' images for technical quality and provides constructive feedback on areas where improvements are required. Performs annual competency evaluations to include focus on cardiac imaging.
  • Responsible for coordinating and resolving CT patient issues including scheduling problems.
  • Orients and trains new technologists and provides additional training to current staff members when new equipment or software installed.
  • Facilitates CT technologists staff meetings.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care, as attached to the annual performance appraisal document, with respect to the appropriate specific chronological age, developmental age or social maturity of the patient.

  • Must be familiar with CT-guided procedures and CT fluoroscopy and will be responsible for creating image guided procedural flow for CT to include biopsy, abscess drainage, pigtail catheter placement, radiofrequency ablation, cryoablation and microwave ablation. Will be responsible for training of staff in expected essential interventional aspects including measurement and guidance and rapid display of coronal and sagittal reformats for CT image-guided procedures in addition to sterile technique which will be strictly enforced by all staff during procedures.
  • Must be proficient using power injector and procedures for verifying acceptable lines for use.
  • Must have the ability to work well with others.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Good communication skills required.

Job Requirements
  • Associate's Degree required.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years CT experience required.
  • State of Florida Radiology Technologist License required.
  • CT registry required.
  • Cardiac and 3D post processing experience required.
  • Canon CT experience preferred.
  • One (1) to three (3) years Supervisory experience preferred.
