Lead Retail Sales Position (Sales)



SUMMARY
Expertly provide quality sales, merchandising, training, and ensuring guests receive quality service. Supporting the management team by enforcing policies and completing assigned tasks. Responsible for selling retail goods, apparel, and accessories to the public. Obtaining payment for goods sold and/or rented. Utilizing point of sale system and balancing daily receipts. As a customer focused organization, a crucial part of each employees job is to get and keep guests. A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Providing superior service to all guests General public and Grand Targhee employees, maintaining a friendly and enthusiastic attitude. Assist in generating snowboard and snowboard accessory sales.Greet guests and discuss the type, quality and quantity of merchandise sought. Receive, examine, and tag articles to be altered, cleaned, or warrantied. Checks in all new merchandise, stocks shelves, arrange windows and other displays throughout the store. Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of store inventory. Observes scheduled work times. Conducts physical inventories when needed.Handles all guest issues in a respectful manner. Cross trains to sell in other retail outlets. Direct guests to the appropriate merchandise, providing them with adequate information (current trends, technical details, fabric characteristics, etc.) to make a satisfactory purchase. Accept payment efficiently, with courtesy and diplomacy, entering the appropriate form of payment in the cash register, counting change properly, and verifying any credit card transactions. Balancing the cash register by counting the cash drawer at both the beginning and the end of the work shift following current policies and procedures.Ability to work well in teams, including professional interactions with subordinates, supervisors, and all Grand Targhee employees.
RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY:
Protect the safety of self-workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests.Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resorts Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals.Operate equipment safely so that it will not lead to injury to yourself or others.Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure sales associates adhere to modern practices, safety procedures, and company policies.
WORK SCHEDULE
Due to the nature of the recreation industry, we are in operation seven days a week. This includes weekends and holidays and there is no guarantee of hours. Flexible working hours may be required based on the business levels.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous retail sales experience is required along with strong leadership abilities. Previous cash handling and guest service experience is required.

Ability to work a flexible schedule; including evenings, holidays and weekends.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to accurately read and make measurements.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Excellent verbal communication skills.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
