Dir of Marketing, Univ Advance (Finance)



The Office of Advancement Communications and Marketing (ACM) is a key unit within the Division of University Advancement/USF Foundation Inc. With a staff of 12 full-time Administration employees and 3 student employees, ACM's purpose is to serve as strategic partners with Advancement and university leaders to inspire and engage our alumni, donors, patients, students, faculty, staff and friends. We create compelling communications in all forms, and make existing content better.

The Director of Marketing provides leadership and strategic planning for all aspects of marketing, promotions and campaigns of the Advancement division. Manages the staff developing marketing plans to promote projects, events and initiatives. Team deliverables include marketing campaigns that include fundraising collateral, targeted mass email communications, print and digital publications, media announcements, social media, newsletters and more to present polished and innovative communications. Elevates division-wide efforts to maximize funds raised, donor participation and alumni engagement. Serves as a member of the Advancement Communications & Marketing leadership team.

Minimum: Bachelor's degree and minimum of seven (7) years related experience.
Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree
A minimum of three (3) years managerial experience.
Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to partner and build strategic relationships with both internal and external key stakeholders.
Possesses extensive knowledge of the field's policies, procedures, and practices.

Preferred: Master's degree and 10 or more years in communications and marketing field. Prefer experience in higher education communications and marketing as well as managing the work of others. Aptitude and desire for exceeding partner expectations. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to communicate and market to diverse audiences via a variety of media, including social media. Knowledge of Florida public records law is preferred. Experience working with Salesforce Marketing Cloud is preferred.

FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.

Oversees/supervises the functions and staff developing marketing campaigns that include fundraising collateral, email communications, publications, media announcements, social media, newsletters and more in a manner that grows the audience and increases engagement.

Creates and elevates digital fundraising and engagement campaigns in partnership with ACM team members and internal partners at the university. Reviews content from various departments and provides precise, prompt and actionable feedback.

Understands partner needs and develops and maintains positive relationships across the Advancement Division.
\n
Leads regular interdepartmental meetings with counterparts and manages overall strategy associated with communications calendars.
