Quality Mgr (Finance)



JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

Responsible for planning and directing activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products at Roper Pump Company.

Essential Functions

  1. Develop, refine, and implement inspection and control processes for a wide range of components that are used in industrial applications and determine sustaining programs for ensuring conforming components within manufacturing. Perform analysis and maintain technical product documentation.
  2. Owner and advocate of quality culture and responsible for the Quality Management System.
  3. Assists with developing Company objectives and champions Company procedures.
  4. Develops inter-functional relationships, processes, and establishes department metrics.
  5. Champions nonconformance process, corrective and preventive actions, continuous improvement, and operational rhythm.
  6. Interfaces with internal and/or external customers on quality related issues to support the Company business goals and objectives.
  7. Plan, develop, and drive the internal and external ISO audit schedule and maintain existing ISO 9001 certifications.
  8. Reviews project instructions and technical drawings to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problems, safety, and potential improvements.
  9. Sets up and conducts tests of products to evaluate new designs and to obtain data for development, standardization, and quality control.
  10. Analyzes test results against design or rated specifications and test objectives. Modifies or adjusts equipment test apparatus or equipment to meet specifications.
  11. Prepares test documents, procedures, and data recording forms. Records test results, numerical and graphical data. May recommend changes in product or test methodology.
  12. Support, develop, and manage the Quality team.

Key Skill Requirements

  1. Fundamental understanding of quality standards, systems, methods, tools, standards, organizational and team dynamics, customer expectations and satisfaction, supplier relations and performance, leadership, training, interpersonal relationships, improvement systems and professional ethics.
  2. Expert in the audit process that includes types of audits, planning, preparation, execution, results, and follow-up.
  3. Able to develop and implement quality programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting, and problem solving.
  4. Capability to plan, control, and assure product and process quality in accordance with quality principles, which include planning processes, material control, acceptance sampling and measuring systems.
  5. Has essential knowledge of risk management that includes modeling, systems design, assessment tools, and reporting.
  6. Can acquire and analyze data using appropriate standard quantitative methods across a spectrum of business environments to facilitate process analysis and improvements.
  7. Extensive knowledge and experience of the ISO 9001:2015, its requirements, audit and certification expectations, and managing the ISO program within the Company.
  8. Ability to discuss and communicate technical subjects clearly and accurately to every level of the Company, from shopfloor to President.
  9. Expert knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machine capabilities, programming, and use.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of quality experience; Associate's degree and five years of experience; or a combination of education and experience. Must have excellent Microsoft Office computer skills.

Requires excellent manufacturing comprehension and experience. Gear manufacturing and inspection experience is a benefit.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position directs the work of the quality, lab, and test technician(s) and engineer(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing daily work tasks; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time, salaried position. Days of work are Monday through Friday. This position periodically requires long hours and occasional weekend work as job duties demand
