Post Processor Engineer (Finance)

Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence division is seeking a Post Processor Engineer. This is a remote role.

The Post Processor Engineer is responsible for the creation and maintenance of machine-specific post processors within our sheet metal fabrication CAM software. These post processors translate CAM toolpaths into machine-ready NC code, enabling accurate operation of CNC cutting machines across a wide range of brands and configurations.
The role supports the delivery of tailored post processors used by application engineers and sales teams in customer projects. Post processors must be reliable, maintainable, and scalable-ensuring our solutions perform seamlessly in real-world production environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain post processors for sheet metal and multi-axis CNC machines
  • Translate customer and OEM specifications into machine-specific logic and output
  • Implement requested updates and enhancements based on real-world use cases
  • Validate NC code output through internal testing and customer feedback
  • Document implementations and contribute to structured configuration libraries
  • Review peer work to ensure consistency and maintainability across the library
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support the delivery of post processors in customer projects
  • Contribute to the broader development and refinement of engineering tools as needed
  • High tier support for customers
  • Working with machine companies or potential OEM opportunities
  • Ability to travel up to 20%

Qualifications

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Professional experience in C#/C++/Scripting Languages for software development
  • Experience with TFS, Git, and Visual Studio
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a structured and logical mindset
  • Solid understanding of geometry and coordinate systems
  • Ability to interpret NC code, machine specs, and technical documentation
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional environments with short feedback loops

Preferred Experience
  • Experience developing post processors or working with CNC machines
  • Familiarity with CAM solutions for sheet metal (e.g., RADAN)
  • Exposure to agile development workflows and version control systems
  • High school diploma required; BA or Technical Degree preferred
