Position Overview

As an Assistant Customer Service Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in guiding a dynamic team, supporting daily sales operations, and ensuring seamless customer experiences. Key Responsibilities

  • Be a valued member of our management team, contributing to operational planning, performance enhancement, and strategic initiatives.
  • Work closely with Sales, Operations, Safety, Equipment, and Quality Control teams to synchronize dispatch planning with production schedules, equipment readiness, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Provide valuable insights into company direction, performance metrics, and resource allocation decisions.
  • Assist in leading daily dispatch operations and help oversee the team responsible for scheduling driver callouts and delivery logistics.
  • Monitor and adjust the master dispatch schedule to meet customer needs, optimize plant capacity, and ensure field readiness.
  • Act as a primary contact for key accounts and major project stakeholders, delivering responsive and proactive service.
  • Participate in pre-project planning meetings for complex placements to coordinate resources and delivery timing.
  • Partner with Sales to ensure dispatch capabilities align with customer schedules and expectations.
  • Exercise sales and pricing authority for cash-on-delivery (COD) accounts or projects within designated thresholds.
  • Deliver prompt communication and creative problem-solving to address customer service issues.
  • Mentor, support, and lead the customer service team while serving as a vital link between sales and customer service departments.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; additional education is a plus.
  • 1-3 years of dispatch experience in the transportation industry preferred.
  • 1-3 years of sales experience.
  • Experience with COMMAND ALKON software is a strong advantage.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively in a high-pressure environment.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and dispatch management tools.
  • Demonstrated multitasking skills and adaptability to evolving priorities.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Extensive use of radio and telephone communications.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and move hands/arms as needed for office and field work.
  • Work in a mixed environment of both standard office and active field operations.
  • Comfortable working environments with varying levels of noise and activity.
