Estimator - Retail, Restaurant & Commercial Construction (Finance)
SUMMARY
Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services for design-build and hard bid projects by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be
assigned.
Reviews data and blueprints to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists of cost estimates.
Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for purposes such as planning, organizing, and
scheduling work, preparing bids, change order pricing, vendors or subcontractors agreement, and
determining cost effectiveness.
Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
Consults with customers, subcontractors, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or minimum two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical
publications or government regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, managers, customers and the general public.
