Staff Research Associate II | Job Code: 22-045 (Biotech)



Applications are invited for a Staff Research Associate position to join the Jendzjowsky Lab investigating neuro-immune control of airway defense at The Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Reporting to Dr. Nicholas Jendzjowsky, the primary duties will involve routine molecular, biological and histological assays for a number of ongoing and forthcoming experiments.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs routine molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, histology and immunology laboratory procedures, such as qPCR, DNA electrophoresis, DNA and RNA preparation and Western Blots, routine histology stains.
  • Performs and maintains cell cultures.
  • Performs and manages mouse transgenic colonies.
  • Collects, analyzes, and assures validity of data independently and reports to direct supervisor.
  • Ensures a clean working area and is responsible for washing and storing glassware.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree in Physiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology. MSc. Is a plus.
