Social Strategist (Finance)

Edelman is looking for a Social Strategist to join our growing team of social strategists, practitioners, and community experts. Our Social Strategists are people who demonstrate curiosity and collaboration with operational excellence in building social-first brands.

The Role:

As a Social Strategist, you will help support the overall vision of business and be responsible for the creation, management, and implementation of day-to-day strategic initiatives grounded in social behaviors and cultural context. You bring social sparks that drive tentpole campaigns, trends brands need to move on tomorrow, and the social creative hacks that breakthrough in the feed for owned social.

You will partner with clients, fellow strategists, community managers, and creatives to bring brands and campaigns to life across all social channels and stages of the customer journey. You'll think big, take calculated risks, and propose bold programs that will help our clients achieve their goals and stand out in the market.

Responsibilities:

    • Find engagement opportunities for audiences across Instagram, TikTok, X, and other channels as needed
    • Be an expert on the latest memes, cultural trends, trending songs, rising hashtags, tweet formats, and other viral moments.
    • Identify trends across news sources, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram and other key platforms on a daily basis, then explain these trends in a succinct fashion that takes into account complex client policies and considerations.
    • Develop strategic POVs on the brand relevance of these trends and select opportunities to bring forward to clients.
    • Work closely with creative counterparts to develop quick-turn ideas, copy and creative.
    • Work with strategy and analytics counterparts to provide learnings and recommendations based on content performance and audience reception.
    • Exemplify the brand voice and tone in all community interactions
    • Craft copy for social posts and pitches
    • Maintain an accurate and current content calendar, ensuring all updates and changes are reflected in the master document
    • Manage and organize content and assets
    • Proactively flag opportunities for the brand and escalate issues as needed in a timely matter
    • Maintain and improve workflows and processes for community management and escalations
    • Oversee day-to-day social execution and operational excellence; responsible for oversight of junior team members' work, including providing coaching and feedback that enables others to bring their best selves to work

Basic Qualifications:

    • At least 4 years of experience at a social or digital agency, integrated marketing, or communications firm.
    • A Bachelor's degreeor equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • A passion for social media, from both a branding and cultural perspective, with an understanding of best practices and new features/formats across social platforms (established and emerging)
    • Social strategy experience in a digital, integrated marketing, or communications agency environment
    • Must possess a strong grasp of major social media platforms
    • Familiarity with social media management tools and platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok; experience with Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Talkwalker, and/or Brandwatch
    • Secondary research skills, experience analyzing trending news stories and consumer conversation to unearth insights that inform content/campaign ideas
    • A passion for social media, from both a branding and cultural perspective. Understanding of content best practices across social channels is a plus
    • Knowledge of influencers/ tastemakers across social platforms is a plus
    • Strong writing and editing skills
    • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to adapt to new conditions, assignments, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Able to work collaboratively across team functions
    • Knowledge of reddit, discord, and Twitch is a plus; knowledge of how to work with influencers, creators, and talent partners is a plus

$72,000 - $95,000 a year

An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
