Role 

Ensure timely and accurate compliance with Government and State agency billing requirements, policies, and procedures.

Responsible for the daily activities related to managing, reporting and filing submissions to governmental agencies, such as USAC and CPUC, as well as customers.

This position works closely with internal and external partners to resolve issues and to maintain accuracy and timeliness of billing, collections and cash applications. This position will report directly to the Supervisor.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provide support to Manager, Supervisor, Billing Specialist, and Cash Application team in the day-to-day operations of the accounts receivable functions in accordance with established controls
  • Act as team escalation point for billing issues to customers, E-Rate consultants, Client Services and internal stakeholders to accomplish daily responsibilities and resolve issues
  • Research and resolve E-Rate, CTF and customer AR aging issues, working with the Collections team
  • Provide cash application support promptly and accurately to minimize unapplied cash
  • Prepare customer account reconciliations as required
  • Learn E-Rate, Rural Health Care (RHC), and California Teleconnect Fund (CTF) processes
  • Support inquiries from internal, external and governmental auditors
  • Assist in the enhancement and documentation of departmental processes
  • Summarize data for management review and analysis
  • Review contracts to ensure invoices align with supporting documentation
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related deliverables as needed
  • Maintain alignment with company policies and procedures and compliance with SOX
  • Maintain team metrics ensuring volume achievement and quality control
  • Provide excellent customer service to customers and cross-functional business partners
  • Complete ad hoc projects as assigned

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance or related discipline preferred.

 

Experience Qualifications

  • Two (2) plus years of experience in an Accounting/Finance environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly skilled with Excel
  • Proficient at Word

Where You Will Work
 

This role falls into our hybrid work model working in the office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.  On Mondays and Fridays, teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home.  There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter that could require travel.

Compensation

The pay range offered for this position is $25.48 - $35.05 per hour. A candidate's offer is determined by various factors including but not limited to, depth of experience, role-related knowledge and skills, relevant education or training, internal alignment, and work location. Depending on the position offered, the compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of a discretionary annual cash bonus or commissions, and equity incentives.
