Reliability Engineer (Finance)



Description

Qualis LLC is seeking a Reliability Engineer in support of our government customer at Hill AFB, UT.

Essential Duties:

  • Evaluates requirements for USAF Major System Acquisition.
  • Recommends design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability.
  • Analyzes data and information from multiple sources to identify, recommend, and justify life-cycle cost and reliability improvement activities.
  • Guides CTF Verification & Validation efforts during DT&E to support operational test agency accreditation of system models.
  • Applies technical knowledge to integrate test and modeling products and support weapon system evaluation related to RAM.
  • Leads and mentors junior team members as assigned.
  • Supports periodic reviews of integrated test results and test plan status. Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Integrated Test Teams (ITTs)as appropriate.
  • Provides technical support and advocates integrated approaches of engineering efforts and support of test activities for which existing guidelines may not be available or applicable.
  • Serves as a test team participant in the development of documents such as the Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), System Test Plan (STP),Developmental Test (DT) Report, recommendation for IOT&E readiness, and other technical documents.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a reliability, availability, and maintainability engineering role.
  • Experience with reliability modeling and analysis tools, such as reliability software (e.g., Reliasoft, Isograph), Monte Carlo simulations, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience authoring, designing, and executing Design of Experiments (DoE) cases.
  • Experience with reliability prediction, trend identification, and data analysis including data mining, data visualization, and statistical analysis.
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles, including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), ReliabilityBlock Diagrams (RBDs), Weibull Analysis, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Must possess a strong understanding of different maintenance philosophies (e.g., predictive, corrective, and preventative maintenance).
  • Familiarity with maintainability engineering principles, including maintenance planning, scheduling, and optimization.
  • Skillful in extracting meaningful insights from data, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions.
  • Fluency with Design of Experiments (DoE) methodologies, and the ability to apply DoE principles to multiple analytical contexts.
  • Ability to analyze complex systems, identify potential failure points, and assess risks.
  • Systematic approach to investigate failures, determine root causes, and develop effective solutions.
  • Knowledge of availability engineering principles, including availability modeling, analysis, and optimization.
  • Understanding of system design, development, and testing principles, including system architecture, system integration, and system validation.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508, and MIL-STD-2173.
  • Ability to evaluate and prioritize risks based on likelihood and severity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including design, development, testing, and maintenance teams.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
  • Focused adherence to safety and security requirements.
  • Familiarity with test & evaluation planning and processes consistent with DoD acquisition directives and policies.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10%.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering is desired.
  • Experience with reliability, availability, and maintainability engineering related to ICBMs is preferred.
  • Experience with reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), total productive maintenance (TPM), or other maintenance strategies may be beneficial.
  • Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as:
    • SolidWorks
    • Autodesk Inventor
    • CATIA
  • Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) certification or Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) desired but not required.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools, such as:
    • Excel
    • Tableau
    • Power BI
    • Python
    • MATLAB
    • R
    • JMP
  • Familiarity with ICBM weapon systems and related subsystems/equipment, their projected use in the military, and methods of testing.
