SUMMARY: The Warehouse & Shipping Supervisor is responsible for maintaining and verifying that internal-external transactions and activities are executed in a timely and safe manner. Ensure departmental standard operation procedures are executed and make recommendations to improve on established procedures with innovating controls and procedures while keeping employee safety in mind. In addition, the Warehouse & Shipping Supervisor is responsible for guiding and educating staff on Company policies, GMPs, Food Safety and daily tasks. Warehouse & Shipping Supervisor is responsible for maintaining perishable and non-perishable inventories ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Handling of inventory movements by scheduling materials to and from the warehouse; coordinating inventory transactions with related departments and conducting weekly and monthly inventory validations or as instructed by Management; investigating or adjusting inventory discrepancies and data entry. • Maintain data integrity of all inventory transactions which includes the organization and control of documentation. • Supervise Shipping/Warehouse staff work schedule and time off request. • Assign work to staff to maintain, clean, organize and properly rotate inventories by following established FIFO guidelines. • Assist Shipping & Warehouse Manager in establishing processes and procedures while innovating on existing processes for Shipping Department & Warehouse Department. • Maintain a safe working environment assuring all safety procedures are being followed which includes good housekeeping practices, conducting daily inspection reports (dock doors, racks, forklifts, and warehouse). • Conduct weekly tailgate training and assist in accident investigations and reporting. • Provide high quality service for all department requestors with courtesy and professionalism. • Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: • High school graduate or general education degree (GED) preferred and/or experience associated with this position. 2 • Minimum 2-year Supervisor/ Lead experience. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: • Effective organizational and team building skills. • Good Computer skills (Microsoft word, outlook and excel) • Effective problem solving/root cause analysis skills. • Good interpersonal and supervisory skills. • Goal-oriented, adaptable, and able to work under pressure. • Good understanding of Inventory Control and Shipping & Receiving processes. • Team player who will exceed assigned responsibilities and assist others to reach objectives. • Critical thinking and common sense. • Strong oral and written communication skills to deliver technical information in an easily understood manner across all departments. • GMPs oriented. • Food and Employee Safety. • Bilingual. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is exposed to a cold (-10° to 36° degrees F) and wet manufacturing environment, the smell of chlorine, outside weather conditions, uneven walking surfaces, heavy machinery, forklift traffic and loud noise.
