Respiratory Therapist - Weekender, Day Shift (Healthcare)



Work Schedule:

80% FTE, 32 hours per week. Rotating 8 and 12 hour shifts. Holiday and weekend rotation. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

  • Day; 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM. 

We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist to:

  • Provide treatment and diagnostic respiratory services with patients and families        
  • Work with an inter-disciplinary team to ensure high quality patient care
  • Act as a resource to physicians and health care professionals

Education:

Minimum - Graduate of a COARC accredited School for Respiratory Therapy.

Work Experience:

Minimum - Recent Respiratory Therapist experience preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum –

  • Licensed as a RCP in the State of Wisconsin.
  • CPR Certified.
  • RRT Credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care for individuals with greater than six months post-graduation. RRT eligible new graduates must obtain the RRT credential within 6 months of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification required for any AFCH RT position within 6 months of hire.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively educate others
  • Ability to perform advanced Respiratory Therapy procedures independently and have good problem-solving skills
  • Extensive knowledge of home respiratory equipment
  • Knowledge of RAD guidelines and Medicare regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written skills and be effective in time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with a variety of professionals and home care companies
  • Ability to display leadership and professionalism while in the workforce.
  • Interprets selective laboratory and diagnostic tests.
  • Collaborates with all members of the healthcare team and external customers.

Physical Requirements:

Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
