Gender + Equality Center Associate Director for Outreach and Education (Project Management)



The Associate Director for Outreach and Education role serves as the primary supervisor for the Education and Outreach Coordinator positions in the Gender + Equality Center. This role leads the development of gender-based violence prevention strategies, the educational and training portfolio of the GEC, and collaborates on major campus programming efforts around inclusion.

Specific duties of this role include:

  • Supervision of two full time staff members.
  • Develop & implement various strategies to prevent sexual violence, dating violence, and harassment on campus - including educational training sessions, social norming campaigns, outreach & awareness events, etc.
  • Foster & maintain collaborative campus and community partnerships.
  • Gather evaluation data & prepare annual assessment reports.
  • Serving as an After-Hours Coordinator for the OU Advocates program
  • Contribute to the development of the Student Affairs and Gender + Equality Center curriculum

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree, AND: 

  • 36 months experience in student programming, student services, or closely related experience

Equivalency/Substitution:  Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's Degree for a total of 84 months experience

  • Demonstrated commitment to building environments where all students are valued, respected, and provided opportunity to flourish in their pursuit of excellence.
  • Must be able to create and deliver effective training presentations
  • Some familiarity with curriculum design
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff
  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
  • Able to operate under minimal supervision
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to deal with difficult issues with sensitivity and respect for diversity

  • Ability to engage in repetitive motions
  • Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies

Departmental Preferences:

 

  • Master's Degree in Higher Education or Student Affairs, Social Work, or related field
  • 18-24 months of experience in gender-based violence prevention work

Supervision: 2 - Training Coordinators
