Assistant Director, Event Manager (Finance)



The Assistant Director of Event Services will serve as a primary liaison with counterparts on the Tampa and Sarasota-Manatee campuses, helping to strengthen cross-campus collaboration and elevate the quality and impact of university events system-wide. As USF St. Petersburg continues to expand its events portfolio and community engagement, the Assistant Director of Event Services will provide the leadership and operational oversight necessary to support that growth and deliver high-caliber, mission-aligned events. This position reports to the Regional Vice Chancellor.This position requires a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of event experience or other appropriate related experience or a Master's Degree.

FLSB1310 Equivalency:

4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.

• Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures that align with USF system-wide event standards to ensure consistency, compliance, and operational efficiency.

• Serve as the primary liaison for event planning and coordination with internal departments, and external partners.

• Support and oversee event logistics, scheduling, and execution for a wide range of university-sponsored events, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and brand standards.

• Collaborate with campus leadership to enhance the visibility, quality, and impact of campus events, including academic ceremonies, public programs, and community engagement activities.

• Manage event services staff and resources, fostering a high-performance, customer-oriented team culture.

• Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in event processes, stakeholder communication, and service delivery.

• Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the centralized event services department in alignment with the mission and vision of USF St. Petersburg. Apply
