Medical Supply Driver Supervisor (Transportation)



Position Summary:
The Driver Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily delivery operations, ensuring medical equipment and supplies are safely transported, cleaned, and distributed in compliance with company standards. This role provides leadership to drivers, supports patient care through proper equipment use training, and ensures adherence to safety and regulatory requirements. The Driver Supervisor also maintains effective communication with customers and collaborates with internal teams to deliver excellent service.

Essential Functions:

Supervise, train, and mentor delivery drivers, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.

Coordinate driver schedules and delivery assignments to maximize efficiency and meet customer needs.

Safely operate and maintain company vehicles as needed to support team workload.

Oversee secure loading, unloading, and transportation of medical equipment and supplies.

Ensure warehouse organization and oversee inventory staging for deliveries.

Operate a forklift and ensure staff are properly trained and certified.

Monitor and report customer responses to care and services provided.

Address service complaints or escalate issues to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.

Conduct regular safety checks, compliance audits, and performance evaluations for drivers.

Participate in and promote ongoing professional development through traditional and e-learning programs.

Foster strong teamwork and communication across departments and with management.

Requirements:

Valid drivers license; must pass a DOT physical.

Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of delivery logistics, warehouse operations, and equipment handling.

Ability to train, coach, and evaluate staff performance.

Must demonstrate practical knowledge of cleaning techniques and processes applicable to the industry.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Must have a clean state criminal background check, federal sex offender check, drug test, and driving record.

Knowledge of furniture/equipment descriptions and handling procedures required.

Team-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively and independently.
