Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an Environmental Engineer located in Milpitas, CA.

Reporting to the EH&S Manager the Environmental Engineer role involves or developing, implementing and monitoring company environmental health safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations

What a typical day looks like:

  • To support site sustainability programs, including waste reduction/reuse, sustainability metrics reporting, and independent certifications of environmental programs (ISO / UL).
  • Support the management of environmental permits i.e., air, wastewater, storm water, spill prevention
  • Prepare, review, update, maintain records and track data for EHS policies and reporting i.e., Annual waste and chemical inventories, Tier II, TRI.
  • Assist in management of applicable environmental programs i.e., waste, chemicals, storm water, pollution prevention
  • Support Industrial Hygiene Programs including workspace and employee's potential exposure 
  • Provides expertise and guidance on waste, wastewater, chemical management, air permitting, storm water, and EHS risk assessments.
  • Determines environmental requirements for new raw materials, operations and facilities equipment, and industrial processes.
  • Interfaces with outside vendors, contractors, and engineers regarding waste, chemicals, and other environmental, health, and safety matters.
  • Direct and organize environmental and Sustainability projects for the site.
  • Training: Develop, maintain, and disseminate a variety of environmental health and safety information.
  • Coordinate training program for EHS&S related trainings.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Three (3) years' of related experience in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Ensure OSHA, EPA, and other EHS&S compliance.
  • Meet compliance and reporting requirements of federal &/or state regulations.
  • Meet all site required documentation related to safety issues (i.e. accident reports, inspection reports, training logs, etc.).
  • Maintain systems to track key EHS&S performance indicators.
  • Manage risk prevention activities include accidents, emergencies, or other unsafe conditions.
  • Coordinate audits, review and implement recommendations/corrective actions from audits.
  • Work with cross functional team on safety inspections, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular review of existing EHS&S programs to maintain regulatory and corporate compliance.
