Senior Project Portfolio Manager (Engineering)

The Job Details are as follows:

The Sr. Project Portfolio Manager reports to the Director of the PMO and will partner to evaluate and oversee project portfolio analytics including resource, schedule and budget management. Work with the director and senior level management to provide analytics and recommendations with staffing when new projects are approved. Place great value on resource planning and resource conflict resolution to increase value creation within the business. Monitor and improve on the intake/demand process. Track value realization as defined in each business case. Responsible for managing and administering the portfolio and project planning solution.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic alignment: Providing key staffing intelligence to senior EMT members to support decision making and prioritizing of projects that align with strategic objectives.
  • Resource Management:  planning, managing and staffing human resources in terms of projects.  This includes keeping up with employees' skills and capacities as well as taking into account project timelines and budgets.
  • Auditing projects and project artifacts to make sure all projects are utilizing the proper tools and systems
  • Developing reports within each portfolio that will evaluate and monitor project progress.
  • Select, Implement, Manage and Administer a project and portfolio management tool.
  • Working with Finance and Accounting teams to develop and drive reporting mechanisms that align with Timesheets and Resource staffing.
  • Weekly Reporting on the Pipeline/Demand Management
  • Managing and Advocating our Software Development Process

Qualifications:

Minimum Required

  • Bachelors' degree & MBA or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of project management experience for complex projects – including experience in multiple organizations and/or environments.  Project experience should span the areas of technology projects and organizational development projects including process improvement and performance management projects.
  • Knowledge of, and experience implementing, multiple project management methodologies and tools.
  • Well versed with the Project Management Institute's Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
  • Understands and exemplifies effective personal and organizational communication (written and verbal) skills – including group facilitation skills.
  • Organization development/change management/process improvement experience concentrating on performance improvement for executing projects.
  • Strong Communication and leadership skills
  • Strong ability to navigate and manage diverse political environments.
  • Proven ability of thought leadership and/or innovation to role.
  • Facilitation Background.
  • Project Management Experience.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite especially Excel and Project.
  • Experience with various PPM tools on the market, e.g. Clarity, Workfront, ServiceNow.
  • Role would work with Project Management Office to deliver Portfolio and Resources Management Reporting.
  • Support and Administer Project Portfolio Management Tool.
  • Manage our intake/demand process for new projects and drive accountability of process.
  • Tracking the value statements from projects are received over time.
  • Managing the rolling planning of strategic projects for OCLC.
  • Connecting Company Strategy with Project Health Performance.

Desirable Qualifications But Not Required

  • Project Management Institute's Project Management Professional Certification.
  • Budgeting and financial skills.
  • Experience with application integration technologies including IBM workflow management software integration tools and workflow commerce software.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment.
