Regional Manager (Project Management)



Position Title: Regional Manager (M3)

Role

Responsibilities include leading engineering teams to plan, design, optimizing and restore Enterprise and Small Cell Networks. The Regional Manager will also schedule and direct the activities of a team of engineers to resolve hardware, software, performance, and compliance issues in a timely and accurate fashion. The successful candidate will coordinate and report on status of all designs and networks to ensure standards and KPIs are achieved.  This role will interface with national engineering teams, project delivery, NPU, Operations, Sales, DAS OEMs, and vendors. Successful candidate needs to be a professional leader with proven capabilities leading teams and building relationships across Crown.

 

Responsibilities

  • Interface with internal and external customer and cultivate relationship with their teams.
  • Develop plan and approaches to reduce cost and improve cycle times and productivity of teams.
  • Review and assess business demand to budget and forecast resources to support.
  • Assess critical skills, team capabilities and capacity. Manage and hire team to support all aspects of this AOR.
  • Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure system and network products and services.
  • Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to manage cost and budget.
  • Manage to verify configuration, testing, and integration of networks.
  • Implement Crown best practices and policies for designing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting systems.
  • This position is accountable for delivering all or part of key KPIs for the region, including but not limited to Capex, OpEx spend, MTTR and on-call, % On-Time Install, fiber complete for small cell, and installed enterprise revenue.
  • Manage Internal/external staff and technical education and training.
  • Direct engineering teams and conduct performance reviews and corrective action as required.
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization's executives, decision-makers, stakeholders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent system and network activities, as required.
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on system and network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
  • Knowledge of fiber designs, engineering fundamentals, optical transmission and testing.

 

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree preferred.

 

Experience/Minimum Requirements

  • Five (5) years of Fiber experience required.
  • Two (2) years of management experience or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of small cell and fiber architecture.
  • Knowledge with optical OEMs.
  • Knowledge of Systems such as CRM, OSPI, QGIS, PMT, JDE and MapInfo.
  • Knowledge of fiber route designs and splice packages
  • Strong understanding of fiber and small cell principals
  • Knowledge of radio wave and optical transmission fundamentals.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Organizational Relationship

Reports to:  Regional Director

Title(s) of direct reports (if applicable): Managers, Supervisors, Fiber engineers and fiber splicers

Working Conditions:  This role falls into our hybrid work model working in the office on Monday through Thursday.  On Fridays, teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home.  There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter that could require travel.  Does require customer and project site field visits. Required to perform work indoors and outdoors.
