Configuration Analyst I- SkillBridge Internship Opportunity (Finance)



Elbit Systems of America, LLC is looking to fill a Contracts SkillBridge Internship. This role is for transitioning service members through the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program, providing them with valuable civilian career skills that provides a real-world perspective of contract administration in the Aerospace and Defense industry.

Job Summary:

The Configuration/Data Management and Engineering Support Analyst analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system, coordinates modification records for management control, establishes change notices and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractors. Prepares reports of change effect on overall product then reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing, program management, procurement and product support. The CM/DM Analyst ensures that customer requirements are implemented and reviews change accounting activity to ensure compliance with configuration management (CM) policies to include CM planning, identification, change control, audits and status accounting. Oversees and coordinates data management (DM) activities for assigned programs in accordance with customer specific requirements and company procedures

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Review statements of work (SOW) to derive compliant CM and DM tasking requirements.
  • Perform CM and DM activities in support of and in compliance with requirements for assigned programs.
  • Prepare, release and maintain Configuration Management Plans in support of program requirements for assigned programs.
  • Provide administrative support and participation in program kickoff meetings.
  • Assist and provide administrative support for identifying program Configuration Items (CI) and Computer Software Configuration Items (CSCI).
  • Administratively support the establishment and maintenance of configuration baselines.
  • Maintain the CM/DM database which contains all engineering, AS9100/AS9110, and FAA documentation.
  • Assign and control company part numbers to be used for engineering documents.
  • Support configuration status accounting reporting (CSAR) activities for assigned programs.
  • Support and perform activities to identify, create, release and maintain data items and submittal schedules for assigned programs.
  • Support Integrated Product Team (IPT) initiatives and activities, internal and customer reviews, and CM/DM audits, as directed.
  • Administratively support and assist with review, maintenance and currency initiatives for CM and DM procedures and work instructions.
  • Support departmental continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage the Engineering Support Request Program, provide status of all open items, initiate closure when work is complete. Document weekly status in slides depicting overall program status.
  • Manage the USAF Technical Order (T.O.) Account, establish requirements in support of new contracts, obtain updates for T.O.s currently on account, post updates to the portal for company use. Maintain database entries for each publication.
  • Act as administrator for new and changed AS9100/AS9110 documentation. Create new documents and forms or Document Change Requests (DCR), update documentation, route for approval, and release to the ESA portal for company use. Support AS9100/AS9110 annual audits both internal and external for certification.
  • Develop Preventive Maintenance procedures for newly developed or transitioned test stations, route for approval, release, and provide to Operations. Maintain database entries for each procedure, and a log with maintenance charge numbers of each test station.
  • Act as focal point for all technical data and software entering or leaving the facility. Maintain database entries and repository for all data received, distribute as needed. Generate release letters, after vetting the supplier and the requested data.
  • Conduct New Hire Document Control Briefings
  • Act as administrator for FAA Repair Station documentation, generating Document Change Requests, updating documents and forms, facilitating their approval and release.
  • Submit and track purchase requests, in LN, for engineering and operations, as needed.
  • Support other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education, Experience & License or Certification
  • High School: Required
  • Associate or Bachelor: Preferred
  • Electronics/technical background: Preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Prior experience using a product management application. PLM Teamcenter experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of CM and DM disciplines and methodologies
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-973, EIA-649, AS9100, and AS9110 Preferred
