Human Resources Administrator (Administrative)



The Human Resources Administrator role will take ownership of a variety HR functions for Cash-Wa Distributing/HJH Logistics, with emphasis on recruiting, onboarding, safety and benefit administration. This is a full-time position, with a Monday - Friday schedule.  Position reports to the Human Resources Generalist, with oversight by the Vice President of Finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Post open positions; keep postings up to date for Cash-Wa Distributing and HJH Logistics.
  • Collaborate with HR Generalist and Department Managers on new recruiting methods.
  • Assist with pre-screening and/or interviewing candidates as needed.
  • Send and track offers for Cash-Wa and HJH Logistics.
  • Initiate online pre-hire processes for accepted offers; set up pre-employment drug screens as needed; keep Department Managers updated on progress of candidates through the pre-hire process.
  • Benefits onboarding of all new hires.
  • Maintain personnel files and complete file audits as directed.
  • Serve as Claims Coordinator for Worker's Compensation claims and files; maintain OSHA 300 log.
  • Active member of the Safety Committee.
  • Completes tasks in collaboration with Safety Coordinators for completion of annual ND Worker's Compensation Safety Management Program audit.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of AA degree or 2 years HR experience required.
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels and across all departments, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong attention to detail is a must.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • DOT administrative and union contract administrative experience helpful.
  • Computer skills required – Excel, Word, Outlook; ability to learn new applications; strong Social Media skills required.
  • Must be adaptable to work either as a team member or independently as specific tasks require.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow in the Human Resources role.

Essential Functions:

  • Constant sitting for prolonged periods while performing desktop activities.
  • Frequent stand/walk throughout all office areas.
  • Constant use of both hands/arms, in reaching/grasping/fingering while performing desktop activities and keyboarding.
  • Occasional lifting, 1-20 lbs., normal office supplies
  • Occasional bend/squat/kneel while filing or retrieving materials from lower areas.
  • Constant use of sight/hearing/speech necessary to perform essential job functions.
  • Able to prioritize workload.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing needs.
  • Requires good communication and interpersonal skills both on the phone and in person.
  • Must be able to deal with frequent interruptions, fast pace, and deadlines.

*constant - 80%+    *frequent - 20-80% time    *occasional - under 20% time
