Specialist, Supply Chain Services (Finance)

SUMMARY: Responsible for offering support to sourcing strategies in the areas of purchasing, inventory and warehouse operations to increase effectiveness of supply chain initiatives.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Research suppliers to determine process, timing, reliability and level of quality. Negotiate with suppliers on cost savings, utilizing competitive benchmarking and analysis of cost variance. Evaluate vendors with considerations of cost, quality and reliability. Establish and assess cost standards to reach a consistent, efficient approach to pricing, including timely payment issuance. Maintain data information, files, reports and records in accordance with established guidelines, policies and procedures. Initiate and prepare requests for quotations, reviews proposals and competitive bids.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in business, transportation or related field; or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE: 2 - 3 years of experience in purchasing/materials or related field.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.

Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organizational levels. Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives. Ability to manage ambiguity and consistently identify and execute tasks needed to meet goals at all levels. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to identify and/or document existing and new processes as well as evaluate their effectiveness, develop improvements and/or recommend changes or alternatives.
OTHER: Bilingual ( English/Spanish) may be required. Ability to travel as necessary.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time.
