PGIM Investments is looking for a Director of Marketing Technology who will provide direction and expertise to drive the vision, strategy, and implementation of the Marketing Technology (Martech) stack. This position reports to the Head of Global Digital Marketing and is based in our headquarters in Newark, NJ following a Hybrid schedule.
The individual in this role will create and own the strategic vision and roadmap for Martech products and solutions and drive the entire development lifecycle from concept to launch. This position is a key function within our marketing organization, as it helps affect business growth and scalability by ensuring the Martech stack has high connectivity, is optimized, and operates efficiently. The successful candidate needs to have a forward-thinking mindset in this ever-changing field, be a prominent subject matter expert on Martech capabilities, and be a key partner to multiple cross-functional teams for successful execution and adoption of projects across the PGIM organization. The role requires a particular combination of technical acumen, a strategic mindset, relationship skills, project management skills with the ability to execute, and a passion for leveraging technology to advance business goals.
This person will need to be innovative, stay current with learnings from industry leaders and competitors, and leverage relationships with market and industry leaders. This person will be responsible for developing and implementing a clear vision to align trends and best practices with business goals. Building on personal innovation and vision, the Director will create a dynamic strategy with short- and long-terms goals for transformation. This Director will need to take a hands-on approach to execute this digital strategy, work through vendor management processes, partner with respective technology teams, create iterative onboarding plans using pilots and proof of concepts, and confirm all marketing applications work harmoniously.
This role entails a high degree of complexity and ambiguity and requires significant leadership skills and competencies, including:
Understanding, developing, and driving state-of-the-art Martech solutions.
Understanding how to analyze and present complex data by distilling insights into consumable pieces.
Navigating uncertainty and developing both strategic and tactical solutions as they arise in a highly dynamic environment.
Demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of business success drivers, industry trends, regulatory issues, and the competitive marketplace.
Having a global perspective, and providing multi-country and multi-time zone solutions across multiple jurisdictions.
Leading independently with moderate aid from leadership.
Responsibilities
Engage marketing, product, and sales partners to understand their business goals, and provide Martech and other digital services and solutions that enhance user experiences and align with marketing objectives.
Be the subject matter expert on marketing technology by providing education and guidance on optimal vendors and technologies that help grow our capabilities.
Partner with technology teams on a strategic roadmap to build, execute, deliver, test, and optimize Martech applications.
Liaise with digital marketing and technology teams to implement and manage automation tools and support the execution of our integrated marketing plan.
Ensure all Martech capabilities are operationalized and compliance protocols are met. Drive adoption and ensure SOPs are met.
Phase delivery of solutions/capabilities to meet immediate needs while building toward the long-term strategic vision of the Martech landscape.
Be a hands-on contributor throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring business objectives are met and successes and shortfalls are harvested for improvements.
Vendor administration and primary point of contact for all Martech platforms. Liaison with vendor management on contracting, licensing, and ongoing vendor oversight.
Stay current with evolving market trends, competitive landscapes, and new technologies in the industry.
Develop and nurture external relationships with market experts and industry leaders at trade shows, vendor product showcases, etc.
Actively represent PGIM Investments in cross-business data and analytics initiatives, sharing digital knowledge and fostering a data-first mindset.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of the Martech ecosystem, as well as common applications in marketing and sales teams.
Practical experience leading teams in the implementation and adoption of complex integrated solutions, including technology, design, and process.
Product management experience with marketing technology platforms (e.g., SFMC, Salesforce, Adobe Experience Manager, Marketo, Eloqua).
Experience leveraging web optimization tools (e.g., Optimizely, Maxymiser, Monetate, Adobe Target).
Adaptable performer who can lead effectively and maintain a results-oriented mindset working with ambiguous and changing requirements and deadlines.
Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Excellent attention to detail and high analytical ability.
Strong managerial skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, teams, and budgets.
Strategic thinker and influencer with leadership acumen and problem-solving skills.
Education/Experience
5+ years of experience in marketing technology management or digital marketing experience. Asset management/financial services industry experience is a plus.
5+ years of professional experience with, or direct knowledge of core marketing platforms including CMS [Adobe Experience Manager], Customer Engagement Platforms [e.g. Eloqua, Adobe Campaign, Marketo], Customer Data or Data Management Platforms (e.g. Bluekai, Hadoop, Adobe Experience Platform, AWS) analytics [Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics]
Ability to communicate dynamic and complex strategies in a clear and effective manner.
Experience leading the development of marketing technology tools for B2C or B2B web and mobile applications or similar products in an Agile environment.
Proficiency with project management platforms including JIRA, WorkFront
Bachelor's degree. MBA or graduate degree a plus.
