Role Responsibilities
The State Manager- Kentucky, is responsible for managing the end-to-end commercial business for an expansive geography. This Manager will oversee all aspects of sales for the region including account management, pricing, local marketing, activation, budgeting, distributor management and any other activities germane to the geography's business.
The State Manager will lead the strategic plan for the assigned geography and build business across chain, off premise and on-premise accounts while partnering and managing the relationship with the state's key distributors. She/he will leverage leadership, vision, support and effective resource allocation to ensure all company goals are attained and will deliver a collaborative business plan for long-term growth.
The State Manager of KY is responsible for communicating and collaborating with both Distilleries in KY to insure we are all operating as One Commercial Team. Including, pricing, promotion, and brand activation.
Meet and exceed the company's volume, profit and sales objectives for the region.
Promote and maintain a positive rapport with customer and distributor executives to maximize potential opportunities, identify customer needs and further develop key initiatives
Drive a customer-focused culture and exploit new market opportunities
Communicate with the Beam Suntory Regional Leadership Team regarding opportunities for growth
Establish annual, quarterly and monthly sales targets, and monitor the results taking necessary actions to improve performance and provide innovative approaches for success
Develop cross-functional, internal partnerships with key functional disciplines to ensure company resources are focused to maximize marketplace opportunities
Create, execute and evaluate sales promotion plans, utilization of market development funds and merchandising ideas, while ensuring execution, review and tracking of all plans and programs
Qualifications & Experience
Progressive sales management experience within the consumer facing industry; adult beverage experience highly preferred
Proven People Management skills
Exceptional track record of achieving tough and demanding goals
Strong analytical mindset with a keen ability to solve problems and set priorities
Ability to translate strategy into actionable plans
Entrepreneurial mindset
Collaborative leader with demonstrated success inspiring and leading cross-functional business initiatives

Previous industry experience, at distributor, other supplier, or bar staff at key on premise account
Knowledge and proven experience in winning in the on-premise - motivating owners, bartenders, local influencers, and industry trade groups

Strong time management and organizational skills
Effective budget management capabilities
Four-year undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field
5+ years previous sales/marketing experience
Licensed driver of motor vehicles
Ability for frequent travel
