Head Lifeguard - Tomlinson South Meridian YMCA (Project Management)
Head Guards make a difference in our facilities every day by ensuring the safety of participants and the community. As a Head Lifeguard, you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills, be a part of an amazing team, and be a role model to both staff and participants.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and function as a point person for lifeguards during assigned shift.Mentor and assist with training and development of lifeguards.Monitor and ensure safety of participants, staff, and volunteers at assigned program areas by adhering to YMCA Lifeguarding and association lifeguard standards.Communicate health and safety rules and regulations to participants, parents, and volunteers.Serve as First Responder in emergency situations.Ensure program facility and equipment is ready for use and deemed safe.Administer swim tests to participants according to association guidelines.Maintains records of pool chemical readings and follow appropriate procedures.Monitors pool usage and follows established procedures regarding ratios.Completes incident and accident reports as required.Performs routine maintenance of the pool and surrounding areas, to ensure safety and cleanliness.Attends and participates in in-service sessions within association standards.Follow established procedures to ensure positive relationships with program partnersPromote inclusivity and community amongst participants and other staff members.Stay informed of aquatic program offerings and cross promote when appropriate.
Qualifications:
In order to maintain the safety and quality our Aquatics programs, all YMCA Aquatics positions require valid aquatics certifications. The YMCA is currently covering the cost of required lifeguard certifications with Basic Life Support, First Aid, and Administering Emergency Oxygen Certifications. If you need to obtain certification, we are here to support you through your journey! Shortly after receiving your application, our Aquatics Leadership Team will contact you to discuss the certification process.
To be considered, candidates must be 18 years of age or over.
Schedule:
Seeking Head Guards that are able to work the day shifts between the hours of 5am-4pm and weekends.
