Vice President, Eastern Area (Finance)



Description

Vitalant is looking for a bold, visionary leader to join our Blood Services Leadership Team as the Vice President, Eastern Area. This is a high-impact leadership role, that will focus on deep community engagement (school systems, business leaders, government officials, hospital leaders, community and church leaders), mobile blood drive success, resource management for both mobile and fixed sites, local facility and fleet oversight, hospital customer engagement and general division leadership. This position works in a highly collaborative manner with the Blood Services functional Vice Presidents, SVP, Chief of Marketing & Donor Services and other leadership throughout the organization to ensure strategic and collection goals are met.

The Impact You'll Make:

As Vice President, you will serve as the senior leader for your designated geographic area, responsible for aligning your division's activities with Vitalant's national strategic goals. You will oversee all aspects of divisional operations, including:

  • Directing mobile blood collections to meet production targets
  • Leading and developing a high-performing leadership team across multiple locations
  • Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
  • Monitoring division performance while taking proactive steps to achieve strategic and operational goals
  • Overseeing divisional budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation
  • Partnering with national support functions and participating in Functional Councils to drive process improvement
  • Assisting with contract renewals, business reviews, and customer relations in coordination with Sales and hospital partners

Requirements

Knowledge/ Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's degree preferred
Experience
  • Ten years progressively responsible operations management experience required. Experience must include Six years senior leadership experience in blood banking, healthcare or relevant operations management

Skills/ Abilities
  • Must have analytical, statistical, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to organize, prioritize, and execute a variable workload and multiple priorities.
  • Effective oral and written business communication skills.
  • Must have a participative management style, strong team development, coaching skills, and the ability to lead and motivate senior and executive-level managers.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and participate as an active member of management.
  • Must have proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to travel (30% - 50%)
