Job Title : Assistant Center Manager

Salary Range: $64,000 - 69,000

FLSA: Salary, Non-Exempt

Location: K itsap (3 days) & King (2 days) County Locations

About the Position

The Assistant Center Manager supports the Center Manager in the daily operations of the Job Training & Education Center (JTEC). This role collaborates with management on various activities and identifying learning objectives and oversees Instructional staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

• Support the Center Manager in coordinating activities, staff, and facilities; and improving operational processes at the Center.

• Responsible for the quality of instruction in assigned programs.

• Support outreach, community engagement, and recruitment activities and promote program benefits to potential employers, agencies and service providers.

• Coordinate and attend required internal and external events, meetings, and trainings.

• Work on special projects and assist with events as needed.

• Assist in development of regular center reports as required.

• Assist in the development of lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse learners, including the integration of educational technology.

• Monitor program enrollments and prepare drafts of course schedules and descriptions to estimate staffing and facility requirements.

• Draft, schedule, and maintain Center social media content to build an engaged following and increased awareness of Mission programs and services.

• With the Center Manager, coordinate Center maintenance services and use of facilities.

• Demonstrates safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; reports any potential hazards or accidents.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Goodwill's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; monitoring performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Partner with People Relations as needed and appropriate.

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education; however, lived experience and international experience considered in lieu of more traditional, U.S. achieved credentials.

• Minimum two (2) years of teaching/training experience and supervisory experience. Experience teaching/training students from diverse backgrounds and with varied skill levels preferred. Prior experience in college readiness programs, and/or workforce development programs a plus.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Committed to working with and supporting diverse communities.

• Willingness and ability to exercise sound professional judgement on issues of sensitivity.

• Remote and occasional evening and weekend work required.

• Must be able to meet travel requirements of up to 10% of work time locally and statewide.

Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:

• Must have valid driver's license and proof of insurance.

Computer/Technology Skills:

• Proficient with web-based applications (Google Workspace), social media platforms, and Microsoft Office.

• Ability to learn new technology and software as related to the job.

Physical Demands :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required sit for long periods of time, communicate with other employees by talking and hearing and to operate computer systems. Able to safely lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs., grasp, handle, finger and manipulate items; perform repetitive fine motor functions with fingers, wrists, and arms, standing for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Able to communicate with others effectively both verbally and written, including those who have limited English skills. Maintain reliable attendance.

Work Environment:

Office/classroom environment; the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must have reliable transportation, as this position requires travel to offsite meetings and events.
