IT Application Manager (Project Management)



Job Title:   IT Application Manager

Job Location: Duluth, Georgia

Work Schedule: Hybrid: M-F (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday in office; Monday and Friday remote).  

Job Summary:

Reporting directly to the Director of IT & Cybersecurity, the IT Application Manager will focus on desktop and cloud application support, plus cloud and network infrastructure, server management, and desktop support. This role interfaces internally with all IPA staff and externally with consultants and vendors. The right candidate will be an IT player-coach who is passionate about building a world class IT organization that drives operational efficiencies through ITIL best practices, automation, and customer (employee) centricity. The IT Application Manager will oversee and own IT application management and provide support services to employees with technical problems and information technology issues involving desktop, laptop, or network services for local and remote personnel. This position will also act as the escalation point for the IT Helpdesk support staff and be responsible for primary oversight of the IPA Helpdesk.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Application Management:

  • Coordinate software upgrades, including Rootstock and FinancialForce, oversee migration to production, and manage sandbox testing.
  • Integrate new and existing software with Salesforce to enhance data flows and streamline reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Director of IT and Cybersecurity to review and optimize user roles, permissions, and access rights, minimizing data exposure.
  • Establish and maintain data redundancy, backup solutions, and data retention rules following IPA/Roper guidelines.
  • Oversee Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS resources, SSL certificates, IP DNS entries, and implement single sign-on authentication for web and phone-based applications.
  • Identify, implement, and test new software features, eliminate redundancy, and assist in testing IPA software products.
  • Monitor project management applications, such as Jira and Teamwork, communicate development progress, and ensure adherence to change management procedures.
  • Document all software changes and assist in troubleshooting, ensuring the IT Helpdesk is well-versed in user maintenance processes and management reports.

2. Monitor and Maintain Technology:

  • Provide essential support for the IT helpdesk, acting as an escalation point for technology troubleshooting.
  • Connect and set up hardware as needed and provide necessary network accounts and passwords.
  • Monitor technology security, identify hardware for disposal, and implement disaster recovery and backup procedures.
  • Review and enhance existing software and equipment to preserve assets and ensure optimal performance.
  • Provide comprehensive technical support for corporate and remote users, covering domains, email (Office365), laptops, desktops, tablets, Hyper-V, network (routers, switches), VOIP Phone System, cellular phones, Access Control & Camera Systems, and general office equipment.
  • Ensure accessibility and up-to-date hardware and software for technology.
  • Troubleshoot and offer support for all hardware and software used at IPA.
  • Assist network users in accessing resources and operating software.
  • Provide individualized training and support upon request.
  • Maintain up-to-date inventory of technology hardware, software, and resources.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree (B.S.) in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Minimum five years of related experience in diverse corporate Information Technology environment.
  • Proficient/ Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows products (desktop, servers, Azure), Linux variants (CentOS, RedHat, Debian), Ubiquiti and Cisco network equipment is required.
  • Proven experience in managing and directing both daily operations and major project work. 
  • Previous expereince in direct roles in launching new systems, hardware, and processes.

Additional Skills:

  • Expertise in computer viruses, security, cybersecurity, systems protection, and breach detection.
  • Proficient in email and internet programs, with knowledge of disaster recovery.
  • In-depth understanding of computer hardware, software systems, and programs.
  • Skilled in computer networks, network administration, and installation.
  • Proven ability in computer troubleshooting and awareness of technology trends.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other web-based applications.
  • Familiarity with operating and support systems, data backup, and disaster recovery technologies.
  • Competence in managing Office 365 and Azure environments.
  • Customer service-oriented approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, well organized, with solid attention to detail.
  • Results orientation and attention to timely and accurate completion of daily work requirements.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact constructively with individuals at all levels within the organization and to work in a team environment.
