HR Generalist - Talent Acquisition/Benefits Administration/Compliance (Human Resources)



STATEMENT OF WORK:

Talent Acquisition

  • Positively influence recruitment effort for all, exempt, non-exempt personnel, students and temporary employees.
  • Manage recruitment efforts (i.e. requisition database, job postings (internal; external), coordination with HR staff, internal hiring managers, temporary agencies and community partners.
  • Responsible for the recruitment process in Sealing Devices' HRIS, including job requisition, job posting, screening, interviewing, offers of employment, onboarding and termination.
  • Input and maintenance of HRIS records and compliance reporting from the database.
  • Reviews applications and interviews applicants to match experience with specific job-related requirements.
  • Organizes new employee orientations.
  • Writes and places advertisements; coordinates recruitment efforts with Director of HR/OD, HRBP, and other Sealing Devices recruitment personnel (internal; external).
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate employee personnel records, files and information, in compliance with legal requirements and company needs.  

Benefits Administration

  • Coordinate and administer all new hire and temp-to-perm benefits enrollment and annual open enrollment.
  • Serve as secondary contact (Director of HR/OD, primary contact) for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Collaborate with HRBP to ensure the accurate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums, and plan administration.
  • Maintain and document administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.
  • Manage enrollments, such as COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, NYS and optional short-term disability, long-term disability, accident and death claims, and other leaves of absence (NY Paid Family Leave, FMLA).
  • Audit all benefit invoices monthly for accuracy of enrollments and payroll deductions.
  • Provide benefit-related support to all employees.
  • Consult with Marketing staff to develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits.
  • Design and distribute materials for benefit orientations and open enrollment.
  • Oversee maintenance of employee benefit files and maintain group benefit database.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, Social Security requirements.

Compliance

  • Under the direction of the Director of HR & OD and/or the HRBP, administer various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and maintains the employee handbook.
  • Maintains records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.  Maintains Affirmative Action Program and EEO compliance reporting, providing accurate data to AAP/EEO vendor annually.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws.  

Departmental

  • Proactive participant in HR/OD department staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars. 
  • Assistance in the evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.  

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Associates degree in Human Resources, Business or related field (required).
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field (preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, HRM/HRIS software (i.e. UKG, ADP, etc.)
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or PHR/SPHR.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources and/or Benefits Administration.

Through regular personal interaction with your manager and Sealing Devices Performance Management model.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Commitment of 40 hours per work.  The job operates in a professional office environment.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Overall level of physical activity is light.
