Roadhouse Dining Room Manager (Finance)
Brings all guests and staff amazing Zingerman's Roadhouse experiences!
Arrives on time for all scheduled shifts, meetings, and classes
Responsible for hiring, training, coaching, and performance reviews for dining and beverage service staff, following the principles of Servant Leadership, Stewardship and Zingerman's Entrepreneurial Approach
Schedules staff based upon anticipated volume and coordination of balanced service teams
Adjusts environment, music and lighting, and temperature as needed to maintain the appropriate atmosphere and service levels
Resolves any customer complaints that are "passed up" from staff and/or asks for help from a Restaurant Manager or Managing Partner
Provides hands-on help if needed by any of the service teams, including facilitating the resolution of conflicts between or within teams
Greets guests and delivers the Zingerman's Roadhouse experience
Knows regulars by name and tracks their seating and dining preferences
Actively builds database of guest names with notes in Sevenrooms system
Passes all training requirements required of front line staff at server, host, bartender, roadshow staff, and busser positions within 6 months
Is able to prepare all specialty beverages according to Zingerman's Roadhouse specifications
Maintains inventory of linen, china, glassware, silver, uniforms
Leads dining and beverage service staff in cleaning and maintaining of all front of the house areas, furniture, equipment and fixtures, coordinating with the Chef and cleaning crew
Regularly teaches staff classes, including Welcome to the Roadhouse, and other ZCoB-wide classes
Updates Point of Sale systems as needed
Oversees Seven Rooms and Toast systems, ensuring that operating systems are working smoothly and efficiently
Attends weekly DOR huddle and dept meetings with staff
Establishes and maintains good communication and a positive working relationship with Restaurant Manager, Managing Partner, Catering Manager, Chef and Back of the House staff
Open availability including Weekends and Holidays
Catering Specific Duties include:
Works at other locations and venues as needed, outside of Restaurant
Responds to guest requests through email, phone or in person, responds clearly and in a timely manner.
Clearly documents and communicates guests requests for menu and service needs.
Communicates event staffing needs to FOH schedule writer.
Creates flight plans and timelines for all events.
Creates workable venue layouts.
Communicates menu details and changes effectively with chefs and staff.
Executes the event according to the specifications and is an active presence during the event
Ensures service staff meet and exceed guest expectations
Ensures event sales are correctly calculated
Assist in planning future of Catering dept
Other Functions:
Participates in Roadhouse Specific Work Groups and ZCoB-wide Committees
The Success Patterns for this position are:
Minimum 2-3 years experience in a high-end restaurant with bar service
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a manager or supervisor role
High levels of emotional intelligence and ability to work effectively in a No-Drama workplace
Experience in event planning and managing details of executing an event.
Experience in the beverage industry is required
Inventory and costing experience preferred
Strong computer skills
Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills
Great problem solving skills, especially in-the-moment
Serv-Safe and Tips Certification
Has an appreciation for and working knowledge of really good American food
Provides leadership that inspires teamwork, generates energy, enthusiasm, and drives results
Has a reputation for excellent relations with customers, vendors, other ZCoB businesses, and Kitchen staff
Has the ability to design, implement, and to continuously improve the systems and procedures that lead to success
Has experience in the training and development of staff members
Is self-directed and able to work independently, as well as be an integral member of the RH management team
Has the ability to deliver the Zingerman's Experience to every customer of Zingerman's Roadhouse
Able to work holidays, weekends, events, and other peak periods of the restaurant business
Willingness to ask for help and assistance where needed in order to get great food and service to guests.

Physical Demands
Bending, stooping, walking, and standing for long periods at a time
Must be able to safely relocate up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to balance and carry a tray with drinks and/or dishes.
Able to go up/down stairs multiple times across the day (office is in the basement)
