Intern, Operational Innovation & Digital Solutions (Finance)

Intern, Operational Innovation & Digital Solutions role will be during the Summer and Fall and hours are flexible around class schedule.

Will be a remote but should be local to come to either Chicago or Raleigh office.

Overview Altera Digital Health is seeking a motivated and analytical Intern to join our TouchWorks Operations Department. We are a leading healthcare technology company committed to revolutionizing the industry through innovative solutions and exceptional client service. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to strategic initiatives focused on enhancing operational efficiency and improving client experience through digital transformation.

You will play a vital role in designing and implementing automation and data insight tools, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced and growing healthcare technology environment.

Responsibilities The Intern will work closely with the TouchWorks Operations team, Project Managers, Client Success Executives (CSEs), and our Senior Services Business Analyst to drive key digital solution projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Client Self-Service Scheduling Portal Development:
    • Assisting in the design and development of a client-facing web portal for self-service software release update scheduling.
    • Collaborating to define requirements, map workflows, and design user interfaces for an intuitive client experience.
    • Developing automated workflows for slot reservation, validation checks (e.g., contract status, hardware readiness), and internal notifications.
    • Contributing to the creation and management of a centralized data repository for scheduling availability and client requests.
    • Assisting with testing, deployment, and documentation of the portal and associated processes.
  • Automated Statement of Work (SOW) Generation Workflow Support:
    • Assisting Operations Senior Services Business Analysis, with designing and implementing an automated workflow for SOW creation based on sales data.
    • Contributing to the development of automated processes that pull relevant sales data and populate standardized SOW templates.
    • Supporting the integration of workflow automation tools with existing systems like Salesforce for data input.
  • General Operational Efficiency Initiatives:
    • Rapidly learning and contributing to process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing manual efforts.
    • Analyzing current operational challenges and identifying opportunities for automation, data visualization, and digital solution implementation.
    • Contributing to the development of new dashboards and reports that deliver valuable operational insights.
    • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze project requirements and assist in project execution.

Qualifications

Academic and Professional Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related discipline.
  • Passion for healthcare and interest in advancing healthcare technology through innovative digital solutions.

Experience & Skills:
  • Strong proficiency or hands-on experience with modern digital tools, specifically in:
    • Workflow automation platforms (e.g., Microsoft Power Automate or similar industry-leading tools).
    • Business intelligence (BI) and data visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI or similar tools).
    • Low-code/no-code application development platforms (e.g., Microsoft Power Apps or similar tools).
    • Foundational understanding or strong interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts and their application in business processes.
  • Familiarity with data integration concepts and experience with data sources (e.g., CRM systems like Salesforce, cloud-based data storage and CQP systems like Experlogic).
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative with minimal supervision and a willingness to learn quickly on the job in a dynamic environment.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Working Arrangements:
  • This is a remote US-based position with the potential for occasional travel for in-person meetings and leadership touchpoints.
