Accounting Manager (Administrative)

We are hiring an Accounting Managerto join our team!

As the Accounting Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles. This role includes management responsibilities over the Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) teams and requires experience in payroll processing. You will be responsible for supervising daily operations in these areas, supporting team development, and driving process improvements while ensuring high standards of accuracy and compliance.

Leadership and Management Responsibilities
Supervise and provide guidance to the AR and AP teams, including task delegation, workflow management, and performance feedback.
Coordinate training and development opportunities for AR/AP team members to promote continuous growth and accountability.
Monitor and manage workloads, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.
Serve as a point of escalation for issues related to AR, AP, and payroll processes.
Work with the Controller to define team goals and key performance indicators for AR/AP functions.

Payroll Responsibilities
Support payroll processing by ensuring all required data is accurate, timely, and compliant with legal requirements.
Collaborate with the Payroll Specialist or the payroll provider to address discrepancies, ensure proper classification, and maintain compliance.
Stay informed of payroll regulations and ensure updates are reflected in internal processes.
Assist as backup to the Payroll Specialist for payroll processing.

Process Improvement
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements in AR, AP, and payroll workflows.
Evaluate current systems and recommend automation tools or upgrades.
Develop and document standardized workflows and internal controls.

General Responsibilities
Perform accounting procedures as needed (e.g., reconciliations, general ledger adjustments).
Communicate with customers and vendors to resolve account discrepancies.
Stay up to date with accounting regulations, trends, and best practices.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
Three or more years of progressive accounting experience, with at least one year in a supervisory or lead role
Prior experience with payroll processing
Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
