ETL Developer / Analyst (Information Technology)



Job Summary

Medline Industries, in north suburban Libertyville, IL, is looking to hire an ETL Developer/Analyst to join the Shared Services Development Team. This person will be responsible for creating and administering data pipelines and applications to ensure data is readily available for the business and systems such as SAP, Ecommerce platforms, PeopleSoft and others.

Job Description

Responsibilities include:

  • Administration and Monitoring: Administers data integration applications to ensure high availability of services.  Monitors application capacity and executes growth plans.

  • Development and Testing: Designs and implements ETL processes, including data capture, data quality, cleansing, testing and validation methods.  Develops standards, policies, and procedures for data integration related activities. 

  • Upgrades:  Provides technical support, performs testing, and implements upgrades for data integration applications.

  • Support: Provides level 2 support for business questions related to data integration applications. Investigates critical production ETL issues/ problems.

  • Team player: Works closely with other functional areas and overseas resources to accomplish team objectives.

  • Technical leadership: Provides assistance and technical support to junior level developers. Participates in design and code reviews. Contributes to the technical, architectural and organizational improvements of the team.

To qualify, you must possess the following skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Computer Science or a related field

  • 5+ years ETL experience with ETL tools (Talend, Informatica, DataStage, Ab Initio, SSIS, Data Services)

  • Experience in Talend data integration development & all basic Talend components (Jobs, Joblets, Connections, Inputs, Outputs, Contexts, tMap, tSort, tDie, tWarn etc.)

  • Experience with various mapping scenarios (database to database, file to database, database to file, rest services and web services etc.) & FTP usage

  • Experience combining data from multiple sources into a single target destination system

  • Experience creating complex data transformations and validations incorporating business logic

  • Experience incorporating robust logging into Talend job development

  • 3+ years of Java experience is a plus

  • Excellent knowledge of Oracle SQL and MSSQL statements & corresponding Talend Components

  • Knowledge in migration of Talend jobs across various environments (DEV/TST/PRD)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team

  • Self-starter with the ability to manage larger projects without direct supervision. 

  • Able to balance multiple tasks and priorities within a fast-paced work environment

  • Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio) software

  • Experience in HANA SQL statements & corresponding Talend Components is preferred

  • Experience with source control (Git) is preferred

  • Experience with generating & deploying jobs in Talend Administration Center

  • Experience in Parameterization/Parallelization and performance optimization

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$96,200.00 - $144,560.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
