Under the general direction of the Facilities Manager the position is responsible to perform maintenance activities for day to day operations with supporting various maintenance functions including but not limited to: troubleshooting running equipment, modifications to existing equipment, preventative and predictive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Work will be performed in all areas of the facility indoors and out. Position will require flexible hours on the weekends. Must be able to work overtime at times. Essential Elements: Work from manuals, drawing specifications and written or verbal instructions. Experience in the use of hand tools, power tools, test equipment, material-handling equipment and also operate personal lift equipment. Maintain necessary records and move materials as necessary in the performance of duties. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. unassisted and occasionally lift in access of 50 lbs. with assistance, use of hand truck or cart. Must be able to wear respirator. Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to Manager and perform other related duties such as painting, cable pulling and facility cleaning as directed. Follow established company rules and regulations, safety precautions and maintain quality standards. Perform a variety of mechanical and general maintenance duties such as repair, carpentry, plumbing and preventive maintenance. May work with potentially hazardous chemicals that could include, but are not limited to refrigerants, cleaning agents and chemical process tanks.
