About the Opportunity
The Research Department has an immediate opening for a Research Analyst to join a collaborative team of research analysts and regional economists in our Regional and Community Analysis unit.
You will conduct analysis of data gathered through our business surveys and other sources to support a range of activities in the department, from internal briefings for the Bank President to external presentations and publications for the public. Bring your strong analytical skills, a firm grasp of economic principles, and a desire to continuously improve processes, learn and grow! The position is located in the Bank's riverfront headquarters building in Richmond, Va.

What You Will Do:
Perform data collection, data organization, and data cleaning, particularly of data gathered through our surveys of businesses
Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis
Write detailed findings for inclusion in internal or external publications; may edit and review work of less senior staff
Create charts and other data visuals for internal and external presentations
Maintain records and perform data upkeep for large data sets
Collaborate with peers and other departments to align research activities with Bank goals and strategies
Qualifications:
We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor's degree, extensive coursework in economics (preferred), and three or more years of relevant work experience. Experience with computer programming and statistical analysis software packages (such as Matlab, C, Fortran, Gauss, Stata and R) is highly valued. Acute attention to detail with a high level of data integrity and accuracy is required, as are strong research skills, analytical ability, and the ability to write reports that concisely convey critical information about complex subjects.
