What You'll Do: Payroll Specialist will process weekly payroll, maintain employee time records, confirm accuracy of withholdings taxes as well as run the daily functions of the benefits process.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepares and submits payroll on a bi-weekly basis
Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; Rate changes, position movement, terminations
Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions
Reconciles payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements
Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge
Ensures minimum wage compliance
Reviews and processes all wage garnishments
Evaluates and edits payroll procedures as needed
Bi-weekly 401(k) file submission
Annual IRS payroll reporting as required
Ensures full tip compliance
Records and processes federal and state payroll tax deposits
Monitor payroll bank account regularly for returned checks; ensure funds are rerouted timely
Performs other related duties as required
Candidate must possess the following:
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience required
Associates degree or equivalent certification in Payroll
Excellent interpersonal skills with willingness and ability to work with all levels of management
Strong PC skills and must be proficient in Microsoft word/Excel
Work with accuracy and attention to detail
Highly organized and able to prioritize duties efficiently
