  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in supply chain/logistics demand planning, while utilizing MRP and Sales & Operations Planning in a manufacturing environment.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Under the supervision of the Supply Chain Manager, this position is accountable for the coordinating and scheduling of outbound shipments of Howmet products to deliver on time at the lowest cost in accordance with corporate and local transportation policies and procedures

This position is the primary resource in the area of export shipment transactions, procedures and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Review production ship plans to consolidate customer shipments, expedite time sensitive shipments and promptly satisfy back-order commitments.
  • Determine daily shipment requirements based on product availability, production ship plan, and sales order priorities. Must make sure exports are processed to assure revenue recognition.
  • Consolidate orders into economical shipping quantities.
  • Systematically generate shipment paperwork including bill of lading, manifest, product certifications and export documentation as needed.
  • Review sales orders for special notes (credit clearances, packaging requirements, certification requirements, etc.) and assemble daily ship plan accordingly.

  • Assign carriers based on sales agreements and Howmet transportation policy, using Howmet approved carriers with BEST transportation system.
  • Coordinate with representatives of the Sales, Test Lab, Quality, Production and Shipping departments at the Cleveland Works, as well as the appropriate outside shipping personnel to facilitate accurate and on-time customer shipments.
  • Compile shipment paperwork in accordance with the documented shipment process (MWI-SHIP-754).
  • Maintain record retention in accordance with TM-QS-003 (Record Retention) process.
  • Play an integral role in inventory control including mandatory participation in yearly inventory as directed by finance department.
  • Perform other responsibilities and project work as directed by the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Achieve zero shipping errors. Problem-solve and implement corrective actions for any shipping errors.
  • Identify and execute cost savings improvements.
  • Crosstrain as needed.
  • Responsible for the audit and verification of all export paperwork, in conjunction with trade compliance, both controlled and uncontrolled
  • Approve MSO scrap transactions.
  • Review / approve inter-department purchases.
  • Review / approve overtime in STAR system.
  • Review / approve freight transactions as needed in CT Logistics (freight management system).
  • Provide monthly freight accruals to finance.
  • Provide quarterly shipment data to quality.
  • Provide monthly air shipment details to finance.
  • Manage transportation flow of Finished Goods to warehouse and back making sure that freight appears in the right sub-inventory.
  • Manage and order export crates for production in accordance with the production ship calendar. Maintain crate transportation flow between plant and warehouse as needed.
