Material Handler - 1st shift (Manufacturing)
Looking for a hands-on role where you can stay active and be a part of a great team? Were hiring a Material Handler on our first shift to help move materials and keep our manufacturing operations running smoothly. Youll use a forklift to transport parts and supplies around the facility, support production, and help keep things organized.
Hours: 6:00am 4:30pm
Scheduled workdays may vary by week. Some weeks may run Monday Thursday, while others may be Tuesday Friday, depending on production needs. Overtime may be required.
Responsibilities
Safely operate forklifts as needed and complete daily inspection checklists.Follow all forklift safety rules, including wearing seatbelts, securing loads, and driving cautiously.Deliver parts, pallets, and jigs to the production floor to support manufacturing.Load and unload raw steel and other materials using proper equipment.Read schedules and work order to identify materials needed for production or shipping.Pick and distribute materials based on work orders or requests to the appropriate areas.Move materials throughout the facility from receiving to storage or production areas.Use a two-way radio to communicate with team members and other departments.Organize and store materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to standard procedureFollow all safety guidelines, company policies, and quality standards.
qualifications
Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.Good communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.Comfortable reading and interpreting labels, part numbers, and documentation.Strong attention to detail.Must be present on the job to safely perform the assigned duties.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, push, pull or move up to 50 pounds.Be able to bend, stoop, and reach. Employee will go extended periods of time standing and performing repetitive tasks.The employee will also be required to stand; walk; use hand dexterity; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, talk and hear.Work conditions include non-climate controlled industrial environment with moving equipment, manufacturing machines, and welders, along with overhead cranes.
